Mike Barron is a traditional fiddler from the North Sydney region of Cape Breton Island. At the age of 12 he began to learn the fiddle and develop a passion for the lively dancing style of the music due to influences from family members such as his grand mother from Cheticamp, as well as the many house sessions, concerts and dances he attended hearing the likes of well known fiddlers such as Arthur Muise, his Uncle Larry Parks and many others. At present you can hear Mike playing various dances, concerts and pubs throughout the Island where he continues to express his love of the music, while honoring the more traditional and influential artists of his past.
