The Best of Cape Breton…and a Funeral
What started out as a series of one-liners on a sunny beach-view deck in Groves Point in 2008, quickly grew into “Cape Breton…and a Funeral” which ran for three weeks here in September of 2008. It was followed up with a Christmas edition, and then 2009’s sequel, “Cape Breton…and another Funeral”. The shows featured the collective musical and comedic talents of two of our best-known performers and all iterations of the show had audiences holding their sides from laughter and singing and clapping along all night long.
After five years, Colin Grant and Jason Kempt have decided to revive the antics of Archie Dan and Archie Neil for a special two-night engagement featuring the best of the their alter egos’ misadventures as well as some of the music featured in the original productions, as well as some new arrangements. Grant and Kempt are both busy entertainers, both in Cape Breton and on the world’s stage, and they have both spent hundreds of hours on our stage here at the Playhouse. We look forward to having them back for this special limited engagement.
