Louisbourg is a 25-minutes drive on Route 22 from Sydney, Nova Scotia, a 35-minute drive from the J.A. Douglas McCurdy Airport (Sydney), and a 45-minute drive from the Newfoundland ferry terminal in North Sydney.
From the Canso Causeway the two major routes to Sydney are Route 105 (Trans Canada Highway) and Route 104 (via Port Hawkesbury and St. Peters. Both terminate at Route 125 (on the outskirts of Sydney). Take Exit 8 to access Route 22 to Louisbourg.
